Wildflowers that are anything but...

This is my first summer in this beautiful state of Colorado, and I have to say this amazing and beautiful state gets better and better with every passing month. It is almost impossible to drive anywhere at the moment without being totally wowed by the abundance of beautiful wildflowers.

There are softly blowing seas of yellow petals under beautiful blue skies that literally take my breath away. Every mile of driving I want to stop so badly and take pictures, but due to safety concerns I have resisted the urge  (the side of the road is really not the ideal place to be taking photos, no matter how beautiful the scenery :)). So I have limited myself to wildflowers growing in places where I have walked, and they are just incredible.

Sadly I do not know the names of most of these wildflowers (yet), which far from being wild, are incredibly graceful and serene as they move and dance like little ballet dancers in the soft breezes here.

Hopefully next week I can find a safe place to stop and capture a sea of yellow, before they ultimately disappear for the year. Until then, here are three of my favorites so far.
